Reminds me of me in Germany. I went with a school group and kept sneaking away to wander down the back roads away from the crowds. Tourists ruin t ourism.

Saw the Gaylord International like 8 year ago. Every year Verizon basically buys out the hotel for a night to host their annual kickoff event. I'm pretty sure that's stopped because so many management+ staff would get in trouble. Seriously though, those hotels are incredible.

Nice hotel, too many people, also the struggle of traveling with my family after living on my own for 7 years. I travel very light and quickly (learned/perfected in Europe) , they don’t.

Say no more - I’ve been traveling on business for 25 years.  Plenty of trips to Europe and a few to the Middle East without anything but a carryon.  I pack light and quick - my wife, not so much.

For what that hotel charges, I’d expect a little more...erm...”self-selection”

But I always say that about Disney. It’s amazing how many obnoxious rednecks can somehow afford $1,000/day vacations for the family. And you could go to Europe for so much less.

We went there in mid-December once  around my college graduation, just to look at the decorations. A t least 3 couples were doing separate wedding photo shoots. It was gorgeous though.
